What began as a journey deep in the gold and diamond mines of Sierra Leone evolved into a Melbourne atelier devoted to crafting treasures that last generations. Every piece we create carries the weight of that journey — from the earth to the heart — and the devotion of a family that believes jewellery should be more than adornment. It should be a story, a legacy, a promise made tangible in gold and stone.
The name MARA was inspired by the names of my family — my son, my daughter, and my wife — making the brand deeply personal and meaningful to us. It represents not just a business, but a legacy we are building together.

Originally from Sierra Leone, my journey into the jewellery industry began long before working in retail jewellery stores. Before entering the luxury jewellery business in Australia, I spent nearly eight years involved in gold and diamond mining in Sierra Leone, gaining firsthand knowledge and experience from the very source of these precious materials.
That background gave me a unique understanding of the entire journey of jewellery — from the origin of gold and diamonds in the earth, all the way to the final handcrafted piece worn and cherished by the customer.
It is this rare experience and deep connection to the industry that inspired me to build MARA Bridal Luxury Jewellery.

Combined with my eight years at the source in Sierra Leone, I bring over 23 years of experience across the full journey of fine jewellery — from mine to masterpiece. For the past 15+ years, I have worked within the Australian jewellery industry with hhjewellery.com.au, developing extensive expertise across all aspects of fine jewellery.
I specialise particularly in diamond grading and valuation and hold an Advanced GAA Certificate in Diamond Grading and Valuation. This formal training, combined with years of hands-on experience, ensures every stone we source and every piece we craft meets the highest standards of quality and authenticity.
